With it's 71-51 win over Michigan's Fab Five, the Duke Blue Devils became the first team to successfully repeat as national champions since the UCLA Bruins finished their unlikely-to-be-matched run of seven straight titles in 1973. They were also the first team since 1982 to stay No. 1 the entire season.
As the seconds ticked down, the Metrodome crowd started chanting, "Repeat . . . repeat . . . repeat." And when the final buzzer sounded, the Blue Devils were elated. National champs...again!
